It has to be wine. I love wine which is quite fortunate as we live in a wine region.

Luxembourg produces extremely high quality wine at would you believe it a reasonable price.

Around my house are vineyards which I walk in with my dog most mornings.

You see the owners tirelessly pruning, tending the vines in all weathers as they transform to just sticks in the winter to green lush plants proudly bearing their fruit.

As Luxembourg is such a small country they don’t tend to export very much but they are fiercely protective of it and any event will always have Luxembourg’s own wine or cremant.

As I like wine I try like most to limit it to just the weekends but sometimes it’s very easy to open a bottle as I cook for the family.

In the winter I tend to stick to red. Red wine for me is a longer drink. I’ll quite happily sit on a winters evening by the fire with a big glass sipping all evening.

White wine or sometimes Rose is a summer drink.

We have a balcony over the garden and I’ll sit out there on a summers evening listening to the throbbing sound of the insects busily at work while listening to music.

It’s a social drink and sometimes a friend will come over to share a bottle and put the world to rights.

Wine has been part of my life for so long, as long as I don’t abuse her I think she always will be….
