My name

Write about your first name: its meaning, significance, etymology, etc.

I don’t like my name, never have.

But I suppose does anyone?

I’ve never used my full name Deborah. As I’ve always thought it too formal, too stuffy.

I’d like to think I was named after one of the great Debbie’s but I think simply my parents liked the name.

It’s a name that’s no longer in fashion you wouldn’t find a 20 year old Debbie.

Debbie is far more popular in the US and Australia

Debbie is a Hebrew name meaning “Bee”

I suppose that’s right as I am always busy as a bee.

And I like 🐝

12 years ago I gave up my career and moved to Luxembourg with my partner. It was only meant to be a temporary move but 12 years on, 3 jobs, 2 houses, 4 kids 2 cats and a dog we are still here.
