I have always loved animals.

As a child every birthday and Christmas presents theme was around animals.

We’ve always had cats, all which have been lovely. Some more affectionate than others but always there on the peripheral.

The cats we have now are very much loved by my children. When they were younger they would pop them in their toy prams and wall around the garden with the cats bundled up like babies. The cats didn’t seem to mind at all and in fact would jump in the prams of their own accord. Probably to get some peace and quiet 😉

Of course I love dogs as we have Chloe who I have written about. Dogs are such good companions they give such love.

I follow an account on Instagram called Great Balls of China which are a group of volunteers who save dogs from the meat trade in China.

If you are able to I urge you to follow to if only to bring awareness to the terrible tradition.

Although I don’t agree, I do understand it’s a old tradition but the cruel conditions those dogs are kept in breaks my heart. It still doesn’t make it right.

The volunteers rescue these dogs generally in terrible health, bring them back to health then re home then.

To see a dog what once was sad and neglected. Wounded by life and full of mistrust in humans.

Then you see them running round full of life and happiness.

In a new home probably for the first time in their life experiencing the warmth of love.

It’s just wonderful.

I am a meat eater but I do struggle with the way we treat our animals. Whether it be cows, sheep, pigs or fish. They are mostly kept in terrible conditions terrified till the end.

I wish there was more respect for the creatures who give their lives for us.

Another favourite of mine are giraffes.

These graceful elegant creatures are beautiful to watch.

They seem to have such kindness towards their young.

I could watch them all day.

I do really love all animals.
