A holiday is a luxury so many can’t afford. A day off from everyday life.

The holidays we have are unfortunately more about material wealth than celebrating the day.

I’d invent a day that all can celebrate regardless of colour, religion or creed.

A day that celebrates life simple in its form.

That celebrates Mother Earth.

Where everyone has access to a seed, plant, tree and has the access to plant it.

This day would not be about gifts, or decorations.

There would be no pressure to compete with your neighbour or impress your friends.

Please would not get in debt for this day.

In a world where wealth is so disproportionately balanced.

Where countries exploit and steal from others to gain wealth and power.

Where still in this day and age people are hungry.

This day would be a day where the great leaders of the superpowers would ensure every living breathing human has the access to plant something.

Something that has to chance to grow.

Writing this in my warm comfortable house where my fridge is full, I have a wardrobe of clothes.

Where I have access to medicine if I’m sick.

Where my family and I are fortunate never to have experienced real hunger.

We need to give back.

Replace all we have taken.

This holiday would celebrate Mother Earth and all she had given us by giving back.
